Inkscape is an open source Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) editor with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, Visio, etc.

Supported SVG features include basic shapes, paths, text, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, node editing, svg-to-png export, grouping, and more. It is very easy to edit nodes, perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and much more.
Its main motivation is to provide the Open Source community with a fully XML, SVG, and CSS2 compliant SVG drawing tool.

• Problems with extensions sometimes not working at all on Mac OS X have been fixed.
• Inkscape should no longer crash due to missing icons at startup or when opening the document properties dialog.
• Shift-clicking on the top rounding handle of a rectangle will no longer cause a crash.
• Inkscape builds correctly with recent versions of Poppler.
